Nextcloud Snap Install

Deploy Nextcloud on Ubuntu using the official snap package.

1 Install Nextcloud Snap

The snap package bundles everything you need — Apache, PHP, and MariaDB.

bash
sudo snap install nextcloud

2 Configure the Admin Account

bash
sudo nextcloud.manual-install admin yourpassword

3 Configure Trusted Domains

Add your domain or IP to the trusted domains list.

bash
sudo nextcloud.occ config:system:set trusted_domains 1 --value=yourdomain.com
sudo nextcloud.occ config:system:set trusted_domains 2 --value=192.168.1.100

4 Enable HTTPS

Nextcloud snap includes a built-in self-signed certificate. For production, you'll want a real one:

bash
sudo nextcloud.enable-https lets-encrypt

Or use the self-signed certificate for testing:

bash
sudo nextcloud.enable-https self-signed

5 Access Nextcloud

Open your browser and navigate to:

bash
https://yourdomain.com

Useful Nextcloud Commands

bash
sudo nextcloud.occ status
bash
sudo nextcloud.occ maintenance:mode --on
bash
sudo nextcloud.occ files:scan --all
bash
sudo nextcloud.occ app:list
